The Door to Door ministry

A quarter of a Century of Door to Door Ministry at Whitewell

The Whitewell Door to Door ministry, led by a faithful member, Allan McReavie has been going for over 25 years now and the desire to reach men and women for Jesus is as strong as ever.

Meeting at the church every Thursday morning at 10 am the team cover various parts of the city of Belfast and many surrounding towns and villages too.

Says Allan “We are not trying to “steal sheep” from other churches. Our aim is to reach people who do not attend church and even to lead them to the Lord on their doorstep,”

He recalls one time when three people gave their hearts to Christ in one outing. “That was a special outreach, but there are countless stories of other people who have not only come to know the Lord during our visitations but who have attended the church and then went into the Magee room for help and counsel after the Sunday services at the Tabernacle.”

Around ten people help distribute leaflets each week and Allan says others are most welcome if they would like a ministry which is evangelically orientated.

“You have to like people ad I do which is why I’ve been at this ministry for so long. We don’t get too much hostility and people are usually very willing to listen to what we have to say", adds Allan

The team are currently involved in organising the entire church to go out into the highways and byways with the gospel in the lead up to Alive Belfast 2018.  This week on Tuesday evening everyone will be out in force in Glengormley meeting at the Hightown Road at 6.30 and it will be business as usual in some other part of Belfast on Thursday for Allan and his band of faithful men and women.
