Special Time of Prayer this week for Alive Belfast

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:16)
Whitewell is holding a week of prayer in advance of our Alive Belfast mission which takes place in September.
This week, Monday 20, Wednesday 22nd and Friday 24th of August, we will be meeting from 7 to 8 am each morning and at 8 pm in the evening to pray for the mission and our special guest speaker from the USA, Bill Vanderbush.

We want to encourage as many people as possible to soak this mission in prayer and help build the momentum before the Alive event.

Charles Finney wrote: “Nothing tends more to cement the hearts of Christians than praying together. Never do they love one another so well as when they witness the outpouring of each other’s hearts in prayer.”

We are certainly trusting God for an outpouring of our hearts and a good response from our members to the important call of prayer on behalf of our city and nation. The words of the late Billy Graham should also inspire us to support this worthy commitment. He once said: “To get nations back on their feet, we must first get down on our knees.”

Tea and toast are available afterwards in the mornings to help people needing a quick bite before travelling on to work, but feel free to stay also and enjoy some fellowship.

Please note: the Wednesday night Bible study is replaced this week by the prayer meeting for the mission.
