28 Mar

Easter starts early with a "He Is Risen" coffee morning.

The Easter season began early for the whitewell church, when, in Saturday morning 24th March, the Well Café, was a busy hive of activity for the “He is Risen” Coffee morning.

For the adults, uouth-watering Easter treats, scones, teas and coffees welcomed everyone into the café.

But particularly for the younger folk, Claire, from Blackberry Farm came along with some friends: lambs, kids, chicks, rabbits, a tortoise and a hen.

Children could also partake in Easter themed games, where we had plenty of Easter Eggs scoffed!

Our morning ended with everyone gathered together for a time of worship.  Jenny Herron brought us around the cross, as we remembered Christ’s death and glorious resurrection!

The morning was a huge hit amongst the children (and adults), with the children being allowed to hold and feed some of the animals.

It was lovely to have some of the befrienders with us for the morning - it's a ministry to the disabled that's valued in the church, led by Jim Bailey and a team of volunteers, and all proceeds raised during the morning go directly to the church befrienders ministry.

Halleluiah! “He is risen"
