Fed and watered!

For over 50 years, each Christmas we have held a senior citizen's Christmas dinner, and this year was no exception.

Over 200 of our older members were treated, free of charge, to a Vegetable Soup starter, Turkey, ham, salad and chips, and a choice of desserts, including Christmas pudding, trifle and of course some ice cream.

After their lovely meal, of course there was some entertainment to follow.

This year's programme was almost a mini concert with a number of singers taking part. No Christmas dinner would be complete without our own Elvis (Bobby Moon) kicking off the entertainment.

Then it was the turn of younger member Joshua Sanderson, complete with guitar,  to perform a couple of songs, and then Amy Roberts to minister.

A break from the singing then followed with two couples being suprised with a quick Mr and Mrs competition. First up were Pastor William and Lillian McTernaghan, having been married for over 40 years.  Next up were tabernacle technical director Ian and Maxine McAlees, married just 4 years.

Returning to normality, we then enjoyed Carol Lemon and Jim Lonsdale, both of whom sang.

The afternoon entertainment finished in its usual traditional fashion with the man with the red coat and the white beard making his appearance.

On behalf of all the church can we thank all those who helped prepare, cook and serve the food. It had taken from earlier in the week to set up the minor hall, prepare all the tables, and of course a very busy Saturday to organise, prepare, cook and serve the food. Feeding that number of people is no small task, so thank you one and all who helped.
