Alive Belfast off to a great start

Visiting speaker, Harrison Conley, from Cottonwood Church California helped get Alive Belfast off to the best possible start on Saturday night September 9th, producing a powerful demonstration of preaching.

No fewer than 450 people packed into the McConnell Youth Complex to hear Conley for the opening night of our mission at the Tabernacle – and they weren’t left disappointed.

The son of Bayless Conley - also speaking at the event - brought a beautiful message about the grace and love of God entitled “Who does God accept.”  The compassionate and confident Conley reminded his audience that no one is beyond the love and mercy of God. There were some great testimonies too from many of our young people at the Tabernacle, and the Well Band brought us some great worship. At the conclusion, several young people responded to the message from Harrison Conley and gave their lives to Christ.

That trend continued on Sunday 10th September when Harrison’s father, Bayless brought two excellent messages morning and evening and again souls were saved. At the Lord’s Table, Bayless spoke about the promises of God while his evening address encouraged people to “get up and go – a sermon based on the story of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda who had sat in unbelief for 38 years until he met Jesus.

“Some of you are waiting on a certain man and an angel and even for the waters to flow, but Jesus is all you need,” said Bayless.

The mission continues this week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening at 7:45 and, if the first two days are anything to go by we are in for another incredible week of preaching, worship and the presence of God in the Tabernacle.
