Thanksgiving meal for our bus drivers and car park attendants goes down a treat

Around 30 of our faithful bus drivers and car park attendants enjoyed a great night of fun and fellowship at a special buffet meal put on by the church in their honour. The food was outstanding and the evening a great success on Thursday 24th August. It was also a chance to update licenses and registration of the drivers.

As a huge thank you for their faithful service, the church had put on quite a spread of food and drinks for these worthy servants of God.  The pastoral staff and members of our church don’t take the sacrifice these men and women make for granted.

Commented Pastor David Purse: “We wanted to show how much we value these guys for their dedication and going out in wind and rain to their jobs consistently. We couldn’t operate without such people, and we hope they know how much they’re appreciated.”

The church bus ministry is a rewarding one, yet it demands incredible commitment from those who volunteer.  A fleet of 34 buses still run weekly from the Tabernacle picking up people from various parts of the province, including our befrienders ministry.   No matter what the conditions, these dedicated people do a fantastic job serving all parts of the community and making sure no one misses a meeting at the Tabernacle.

Special thanks must also go those who prepared the food, something all of our drivers and car park helpers appreciated.
