Alive Belfast 2017

International speaker and evangelist Bayless Conley and his son Harrison are the guest speakers at this year’s Belfast outreach – the third time the Alive Belfast event has been held.

It all kicks off with a big youth night on Saturday 9th September and runs until Wednesday 13th September.

Conley is the senior Pastor at Cottonwood, a Los Alamitos megachurch with a 7,000-seat auditorium, along with his wife, Janet.   As a recovering drug addict and alcoholic, the US based evangelist has stated that he found God over 35 years ago through a 12-year old boy.

He’s a well-known American pastor and television personality who hosts Answers with Bayless Conley on television. The programme airs weekly in over a hundred countries. It broadcasts on CNBC in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East and on other local and regional channels. It is also currently broadcast in Mexico through Genesis television.

Bayless is a practical teacher of scripture and has a beautiful delivery void of religious clichés.  His son, Harrison is also an exciting and emerging preacher who shone the last time he was in  Northern Ireland in 2013.

Notwithstanding, the preaching career of his dad, Bayless almost ended in late 2014 after he was involved in a serious boating accident. But, in testimony to God’s healing power and Bayless’s determination and dedication to the preaching of God’s Word, despite suffering major injuries in the Catalina Island boating crash, within five months, he was back at his pulpit in California.

Among his injuries, his carotid artery was damaged, and his throat crushed. His brain was bleeding. He couldn’t swallow or drink water. Conley spent a month in the hospital and then recovered at home. If it hadn’t been for the Coast Guard rescue team practicing nearby, Conley believes he would have died.

“I’m fortunate to be alive. God gives every one of us a certain currency in life with which to bring influence and change. The main currency God has given me is my speech. It’s my words. And to have that impaired, I cannot tell you how incredibly humbling that has been,” Conley said shortly after his recovery.

Conley will speak several times during the Alive Belfast Mission from Sunday –Tuesday. His son Harrison will address the youth on Saturday and again on Wednesday evening.
