A Special Lord’s Day in the House of God

Last Sunday (6 August) was a tremendous day at the Metropolitan Tabernacle, Belfast, with our Senior Pastor David Purse ministering faithfully in the morning while special guest speaker Pastor Nick Cassidy from Cork preached up a storm on Sunday evening.

Attendances were excellent, and there was a real buzz about the place last weekend; this despite the fact that so many of our regulars are on holiday.

Pastor David brought another great word on the subject of the Heart, yet big thanks go to Pastor Nick who, despite feeling “under the weather,” drove all the way from Cork and brought a beautiful gospel message about the grace of God entitled “What sort of invitation have you given Christ?”

Pastor Nick is the founding pastor of Cork Church. He and his wife Kathryn along with some family members and a few close friends started the church over 20 years ago.

Over the years the Lord has been faithful to bless the work and develop Cork Church into a vibrant Christ centred church, which has been built solidly on the New Covenant.

Over the past year, Pastor Nick has become great friends with the Tabernacle, and it is great to see Whitewell and the Cork church working together to promote the cause of Christ.  In the words of Paul, the Apostle: “For we are labourers together with God; ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” (1 COR 3:9).
