May 2015

On April 30th this year we held our annual Gospel Concert to a packed Minor Hall. We had a wonderful night of music, singing and fellowship, and a beautiful tribute to our founder of the Ethiopia Outreach, Jim McClelland.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all who attended on the night. Thanks again to all who continue to support this work and a special thanks to the guests and also to Trevor, Ian, Peter, Colin and Andy and all the crew who helped to make it such a Special night.

We where especially touched by the video sent from Ethiopia which payed tribute to Jim McClelland and showed the thanksgiving service in Ethiopia, which was held at the same time as the thanksgiving service in Belfast for Jim in January. The Children's message on their tribute was "Thank-you Father Jim for your Obedience to God and for Your Great Love for Us. We love you and we will Never, Ever forget you. You will always be in our Hearts".

Although many miles separated us on the day of Jim's funeral there could be no separation of the loss, sadness and grief shared and felt by those who knew and loved brother Jim, both in Ethiopia and in Belfast.

All in all the evening was a fantastic night with a total of £3000 raised. All proceeds from the concert will be for the benefit of the children of Ethiopia and to the furtherance of God's Kingdom.

Once again a big thank you to Pastor David Purse for comparing the program of artists, and to Live Issue, Laura Dowey, Pathway, Bobby Moon and not forgetting Graham the Piper who finished the night with with the Hymn Amazing Grace.

Anyone who would like to be a sponsor or become involved in the Ethiopia project please feel free to speak to any of our team in Whitewell.
