Darren McAllister finished in a very creditable 13th place in the recent Belfast City Marathon shaving almost 8 minutes off last year’s time.
Darren finished the 26 miles and 365 yard course in a stunning time of 2 hours and 48 minutes. As third Northern Ireland man home, Darren also picked up his first cash prize ever of 1500 pounds.
The youth of Belfast were not just unchained last Sunday evening, April 6, at the Tabernacle; they were also unleashed to serve their generation.
It was a case of “the early bird gets the breakfast” last Saturday morning, April 6, as no fewer than 100 hungry men not only enjoyed a hearty Men’s Breakfast at the McConnell Youth Centre, but also got a first opportunity to hear weekend guest speaker, Pastor Harrison Conley, from Cottonwood Church, California.
It proved an emotional evening at this year’s Girls’ Brigade display for captain, Ann Cartwright, who stepped down after an amazing 26 years in charge.
Fittingly this year’s display, which took place on Thursday 28 March, was arguably one of the best in recent years with all of the girls excelling in drama and in their duties.
A special weekend is planned for Saturday and Sunday 6th and 7th of April, finishing with a great youth service on Sunday night 7th April, with Pastor Harrison Conley from Cottonwood Christian Centre, California, Music from The Well Band and Maria Gilpin and drama from Crown Jesus Drama...
