The Sunday evening service for youth proved a huge hit with many young people from across the province and within the Tabernacle on Sunday December 4th.
Pastor Mark Penny and his team at the Well had been working hard in previous weeks to bring some new young people to the church – and their efforts were certainly not in vain.
A large Sunday evening crowd descended upon the Tabernacle; nevertheless what was especially nice to see was the amount of our usual regulars also in attendance.
The evening began with some lively worship from the band New Day followed by some excellent real life stories from 6 of our youth as well as a wonderful drama piece which held the congregation captive and had them on the edge of their seats. Prior to the gospel message, brought this year by Youth Pastor, Mark Penny, there was a powerful spoken word from Lindsay Smith.
Pastor Mark took up where Lindsay left off by preaching all about Jesus and in particular the cross of Christ – a fitting conclusion to the evening.
Earlier in the day at the morning service, Pastor McConnell showed he is clearly back to form preaching from the book of Samuel - a message entitled: “David’s sin of playing the numbers game”.
The pastor seemed to be almost back to the point where he left off before his heart-bypass surgery and it’s great to see him getting stronger and stronger each week. To God be the glory!
