GriefShare
This ministry is for people who have lost a loved one. Come along and find ‘help when it hurts…’
Our first meeting this year will start with an introduction and fellowship evening held on Tues 24th January 2012.
Over the year we will meet 14 times. Different aspects of grief are discussed and suggestions made about how to cope with the new life you face, without your loved one. ‘Grief Support’ meets on a Tuesday night at 7.30pm in the Magee Room of the Church. We watch a DVD on grief and then break into smaller groups for fellowship and chat.

Grief Support, held on Tuesday evenings in the Magee Room at the Tabernacle, is today a most valuable ministry which caters for people in bereavement following the passing of a loved one or someone close them. With so many premature and unexpected deaths these days, due to a variety of illnesses, its purpose is to facilitate such people at this very difficult time and help them recover from the deep hurt that comes with the loss of that special person in your life.
The aim of the grief support ministry, led by Mary Montgomery, is not just, of course, to provide people with support when they are hurting, but also to reassure these people that the overwhelming feelings being experienced are natural. Please be assured this deep sense of loss and hurt will ease. God’s Word reminds us that ‘weeping may endure for a night, but joy will come in the morning’ Psalm 30:5
Each week the group watch a DVD which includes comments from professionals and Pastors as well as those who can add testimony to the successful journey through the Grief Support programme. They also break to enjoy tea and coffee before meeting in smaller groups for discussion.
At the end of each session you can take away notes which will provide a reminder of the topics discussed and lead you to some relevant and practical portions of scripture. This material can make a real difference to your recovery and we encourage you to take a little time each day to ponder it. If you are suffering from bereavement then why not come along and experience an evening of comfort and support?
