Linda Hobson

Linda Hobson

As administrator, Linda is responsible for the day to day running of the Tabernacle, looking after all the financial and administrative needs of the church. She is also Pastor McConnell's eldest daughter and PA. Linda has held this post for 29 years.

 


Geraldine Higgins

Geraldine Higgins.

Geraldine has worked alongside Linda in the administration department for 17 years. She deals with the accounts, church records and other administrative duties. Geraldine is married to Pastor Shaw Higgins.

 


Lesley Dornan

Lesley Dornan

Lesley has been the the church receptionist for the last 8 years. She is likely to be the first person people meet when they enter the Tabernacle during the day. She also assists with administration.

 


Katrina Armstrong

Katrina Armstrong

Katrina has been employed at the Tabernacle as both receptionist and secretary from October 2010, but she has been a member of the church from the mid 1970’s. A faithful member of the Tabernacle Choir, Katrina is a most personable and popular girl and is often the first smiling face people see when they arrive at the church. She is the ‘shop window ‘so-to-speak of the Tabernacle and her polite and gracious attitude with the public always ensures it’s a window that is consistently attractive to the passer-by.

 


Buildings and Care

Mervyn Foster

Mervyn Foster

Mervyn Foster is in charge of all electrical and maintenance work within the Tabernacle. He carried out the electrical installation in the current building and continues to look after all things electrical.

 


Colin Maginnes

Colin Maginnes

You may have heard of the ‘keys of the Kingdom’, but what about the ‘keys of Colin?’  On call 24/7, Colin Maginnes has held the demanding post of Senior Caretaker since July 2009. Possessing a key for every door of the entire church, Colin has done a magnificent job ensuring that the church is well prepared for services and organisational activities on a weekly basis and he is responsible for the security of the building at the end of each evening. He lives on site and is always available if required.

 


John McAllister

John McAllister

John McAllister has been the main building contractor for all the church projects since 1971. Now as a member of staff John is responsible for all maintenance work going on within the Tabernacle including the Youth Complex. John has worked with Pastor McConnell since the very first church was built all those years ago.

 


Darren McAllister

Darren McAllister

A very popular member of our staff, and accomplished marathan runner, Darren is assistant caretaker, helping out in the many tasks of keeping the building clean and secure.

 


Darren Moore

Darren Moore

Darren is currently Caretaker of the McConnell Youth Complex and has held this position since March 2009. A committed Christian, Darren is himself, quite a theologian, yet one who is not afraid to put his books down and turn his hand to whatever needs done.  Darren has the Youth centre spotless and always prepared for the many activities which take place there on a weekly basis. He is also a long standing member of the Tabernacle and is a most versatile young man amongst not only the Youth, but also the senior fellowship group.

 


Darren McAllister

Jonny Campbell

Don’t be fooled by the shirt and tie image, this is a man who knows how to get his hands dirty. A maintenance worker at the Tabernacle since June 2010, ‘Jonny’, as he is affectionately called by his colleagues, has become a great asset to the maintenance team. A dedicated and committed worker, Jonathan is also a very faithful attendee of church services.  A strong young man, he is nonetheless seen as a gentle giant and has proved to be a most affable and willing employee.

 


Technical, Media and Production

Albert Beattie

Albert Beattie.

Albert runs the duplication ministry and the tape desk. Albert has been involved in the Tabernacle for many years. He has been in charge of this particular ministry for over 13 years. He has brought us from the early days of audio cassette into the age of digital duplication of CDs and DVDs. He has built up a large mail order customer base through-out the UK and Ireland, even reaching further abroad.

 


Trevor Bowron

Trevor Bowron

Trevor is the Technical Director for all of the media and television output from the Tabernacle. Having been part of the church for over 21 years, he has been been on staff for the last 9 years with overall responsibility for the TV production and all of our camera and studio crew.

During this time he has travelled  to both of our missionary outreaches in Ethiopia and Kenya filmining the wonderful work being undertaken out there and producing regular DVD updates.

 


Ian McAlees

Ian McAlees

Ian is the Audio Production Director and IT manager within the Tabernacle. Having been a member for over 21 years. Ian has been employed since 2003 and is responsible for all the audio output from the tabernacle. He oversees all of our live sound production team and ensures that our musicians and speakers are looked after. He also produces recording projects for the groups and choirs of the Tabernacle from our digital in-house audio recording studio.

Along with Trevor, Ian has designed all of the Technical and IT Systems within the Tabernacle. Ian and Trevor also are responsible for all the technical aspects of our outreach events and our online audience.

 


Peter Snowden

Peter Snowden

Peter is a very gifted graphic designer here at the Tabernacle. He is responsible for all printed materials and resources used by the various ministries within the Tabernacle, and all of the graphic input of our web sites.  He has been a member of the Tabernacle since 1988, and has been on-staff for the last 7 years. Peter also plays Bass Guitar and is involved in the music ministry here.

 


Colin Gilliland

Colin Gilliland

Colin is a fine young man and has proved to be a major blessing to the Whitewell church since coming on staff as an Audio/Visual Technician back in July 2008. Each week Colin edits most Tabernacle television programmes and was a huge help in producing the new documentary in 2011 entitled: “How shall they hear without a preacher.” Colin’s talents in the audio/visual field have proved invaluable in terms of our outreach programmes, especially the weekly output of Tabernacle services online and on UCB Television.

 


Other Areas

Colin Blake

Colin Blake

Colin has been the Tabernacle's mechanic for over 28 years, looking after our fleet of buses including the many Befrienders buses equipped with disabled facilities such as chair lifts.

 


Karen and Jill

Karen Gourley & Jill Cupples

Karen and Jill (on staff for 14 and 13 years respectively) are responsible for daily the catering within the Church and also the day-to-day running of the Tabernacle coffee-shop.
